Acerina Amador



Born in Tenerife, Canary Islands, she studied in the Conservatory of Music and Dance as a child while she was constantly writing and submitting to contests her own short stories.


Selected for the prestigious PEPCC (Programa de Pesquiça e Criaçao Coreográfica), she was trained by Deborah Hay, Meg Stuart, Joao Fiadeiro, Loic Touzé, Emmanuelle Huyhn, Miguel Pereira, Mark Tompkins, Nuno Bizarro, Claudia Dias, Lisa Nelson, Jeremy Nelson, André Lepecki, Vera Mantero, among many other international artists of the contemporary scene.
Acerina has worked with Superamas, Deborah Hay, Marco Berretini, Michelle Boulé, Miguel Pereira, Mariana Tengner Barros, Wojtekz Ziemilski, Mauricio Glez, Viviana Moin, Javier Caro Ceice, Vera Mantero, visual artist Josep María Martín, jazz composer Kike Perdomo and Carlos Barretto.
Her work, Placeres Extraños repito Placeres Extraños, A propósito do Vermelho, Les Stripteases de Aidi Eisidi, Cualquier Tiempo Pasado Nos Parece Mejor, have been presented in different venues around Europe and in China, consider as a refreshing and strong new voice, with a strong love for life. She has a MA in Performing Art Practices and Visual Culture by the university of Alcalá de Henares and Reina Sofía Museum, directed by Victoria Pérez Royo and José Sánchez, with Juan Domínguez and Marten Spangberg, among others.


Awarded several scholarships like Danceweb 2009 and 2013 and has been part of several international encounters like SKITE lead by Jean Marc Adolphe in Caen, 2010, Interferencias in México, and No Borders in Xiamen.
She teaches in different festivals, venues and institutions mainly in Spain but also abroad.
Currently training in Meisner Technique as an actress.
She is saying goodbye to the year 2014 by organizing the international encounter No Borders in Tenerife, with a series of round tables at TEA (museum) about the concepts of identity and frontiers, and coaching international artists in their creative processes..


She has a degree in Psychology and trains as an Acceptance and Commitment Therapist, which explains her ability to deal and maximize the sensitive material she works with.


She splits her time between many cities in Europe and also New York
